Big D...again.

You may remember a while back, I shipped a couple of
Twins to BIG D, via Austin James, of
Bering & James Gallery--see
photo on right? We'll, Austin contacted once again
toward the end of 2007, asking if I could once again
help out a client of his. Turns out, it was the same
client--Alliance
Residential Company--who was in need of yet
another sculpture for an up-and-coming apartment complex
in Dallas. This complex, turn out, is literally next
door to the Galleria Mall in Big D. So, the process
began.
I thought that since the really liked
The Twins, we should continue the theme by proposing a
similar sculpture for the outdoors; I didn't want to
repeat what we had already done, but wanted to develop a
common thread between projects. I proposed doing so and
though Sheri and Brian of alliance liked the proposal,
they wanted something meatier? I then proposed "CHUNKY
SOUP" which didn't get a very big laugh (hope it gets a
better laugh here). Anyway, Austin and I got Sheri on
the phone to collectively review my website to search
for inspiration--which took all of maybe 3 minutes. Once
she saw the crescent wave on the sculpture page, she
said she wanted that, but taller and broader. Done
deal!!
