Patriotic gate &
fence installed in time for
Houston summer, 2005

Dave asked me, while we were
installing a Freedom Shrine as members of the Heights Exchange Club [www.exchangeclubheights.org],
whether I knew, "someone that could
make a custom gate and fence for his Northwest Houston
home?"
[What? Did I hear that correctly? Is this guy
asking me if I know someone who makes custom metal products???]
I just looked at him for a moment, kind-of in
disbelief, wondering if he really meant the question [maybe he didn't
know or remember what I did for a living] or if he was jacking with me,
surely he knew I would suggest MYSELF? So I did.

The
patriotic theme was the primary
focus
for the design--the US Flag as the focal point;
flag
poles as post; and circle-stars along the upper railing to give a Texas
twang. Installed with a natural finish but clear coated to guard against
rust, the general impression is that it turned out pretty well! If you
ask nicely, Dave may invite you over for a pool party this summer. |
